| Everybody loves the Old Mill Chicken. |
Here are some poultry terms you'll want to know: Most people know that baby chickens are called chicks, but did you know that female chicks are called pullets
and male chicks are called cockerels? A pullet becomes a hen only after she has produced her first egg. A mature
cockerel is a rooster. Baby ducks are ducklings, baby geese are goslings, and baby
turkeys are poults.
Call them what you want, watching them will bring a smile, guaranteed!

Horses: Let Them Eat Hay

There was a time when many feeds were medicated
for this or that. Despite all the promises, a few people doubted the "better life through chemistry" approach.
Today, our customers tend to look for better nutrition and fewer medications. We feature Purina, Nutri-Lux
and Equi-Lux feeds to meet the needs of animals raised here in the Willamette Valley.

Hay. We've Got It. Remember when finding good quality hay for your livestock was the least of your worries? Not any more. We stock local grass hay in 55-60lb bales. This provides good, low-protein fibre for most horses and other
livestock. Need higher protein? We have 75-80lb bales of alfalfa or orchard grass from Central Oregon. We also stock Certified Weed-Free compressed bales of alfalfa or timothy grass from Southern Idaho. These 55-60lb
bales are small enough to fit in your trunk, yet offer high-quality forage. Whatever your hay needs, we'll do
our best to have what you need, when you need it.
